Center for ALS Research and Therapy

About the ALS and Motor Neuron Treatment & Research Center

The UC San Diego ALS and Motor Neuron Treatment & Research Center pairs the nation’s boldest ALS research with the region’s strongest clinical treatment program to deliver comprehensive, innovative and compassionate care to those living with these complex diseases.

The center is a multi-institutional collaboration of scientists and clinicians focused on identifying the causes of ALS, the mechanisms that lead to premature death of motor neurons during disease progress, devising and testing potential therapeutic approaches, and conducting innovative clinical trials.

Through our partnerships, our dynamic team will increase understanding of how molecular genetics influence adult motor neuron diseases such as ALS.
